Real Reason Why Kevin Nash Won't Be At AEW Revolution For Sting's Final Match

Here's why Big Sexy won't be in attendance at AEW Revolution this weekend.

AEW/WWE

Despite his initial comments suggesting WWE had put a block on him attending Sting's retirement match at AEW Revolution this weekend, Kevin Nash has moved to clarify the actual reason for him not heading to the Greensboro Coliseum to be a part of the Stinger's big send-off.

Speaking on the latest edition of his Kliq This podcast (via Fightful), Big Sexy elaborated on his prior comments about his "positioning with WWE" ruling out his attendance at AEW Revolution. Nash had earlier compared asking WWE about this matter to the awkward silence he'd receive if asking his wife if it was fine for him to go to a strip club.

In his latest comments, Big Daddy Cool clarified that WWE hasn't stopped him from attending AEW Revolution, but simply Nash is a WWE guy, he's close friends with Triple H, and the optics of Kev being seen at Revolution wouldn't be ideal.

As Nash explained:

"No, I never said that. What I said was, I'm a WWE guy. I can't have a picture of me in the crowd and underneath it say 'is All Elite'. I just can't have that. It just doesn't work. One of my closest f**king friends is Paul Levesque. As much as I love Steve [Borden], and I know he'll only have one last match... I will watch it, we will talk about it. I Just won't... I haven't been to a WrestleMania, a Raw, a SmackDown, or any of the other pay-per-views. I haven't been to any events. I don't want to go to any place and be around a bunch of people, let alone wrestling people. I just don't want to do it. I'm a hermit, and that's it."

While Kevin Nash and Sting were at one point running buddies as part of the nWo Wolfpac and later the Main Event Mafia, not to mention the countless battles they've had against one another over the years, the pair's history dates back to the turn of the '90s, with Sting already being a focal point of WCW when Nash first arrived in the promotion back in 1990 as one half of the Master Blasters.

In fact, the first time Sting and Kevin Nash shared a ring, Nash was working his Oz gimmick at a September 1991 house show in which the Stinger successfully retained his WCW United States Championship against the future Diesel.

Even though Nash won't be present for Sting's retirement match, one other long-time friend of the Icon's who's teased their AEW Revolution attendance is Lex Luger.
