Reason Why WWE Removed Member From RETRIBUTION Revealed?
Not everyone was sold on the idea of RETRIBUTION.
Fightful Select are reporting that Mercedes Martinez recently exited WWE's RETRIBUTION faction due to simply not wanting to be a part of the group.
Martinez had been revealed as one of the five masked stars making up the new team, donning the name of Retaliation. However, she suddenly disappeared from the unit just before the 2020 Draft. Now, Fightful Select have learnt that the word going round is that the former NXT star wasn't too keen on being part of the faction. This then led to her being removed from the group before the members put pen to paper on new WWE contracts.
It was also noted that WWE currently have no plans to add another female wrestler to RETRIBUTION. There were a few NXT names suggested as a replacement for Martinez. In the end, though, the company opted to leave the group as it is for now.
With that in mind, it's safe to assume that WWE won't be adding any new members to RETRIBUTION in the near future. Yet, as we're all too aware of at this point, the landscape always has the potential to rapidly change in Vince McMahon's empire.
