Report: Vince McMahon "Loudest & Angriest" He's Ever Been At This Week's WWE Raw
A new report describes a long, long day for WWE creative at this week's Raw.
Stop us if you think that you've heard this one before, but WWE creative was all over the place for this week's episode of Raw.
A new report from PWinsider's Mike Johnson describes chaotic scenes in the writers' room. Referred to as one of the "longest days" the team has seen in some time, it saw an "extremely unhappy" Vince McMahon tear up the show's script on several occasions, with the original plans and first rewrite both going in the bin.
WWE had no clear outline or direction for the show as of 6 PM EST on Monday, two hours before going on air. In addition, one of Johnson's sources said that McMahon was the "loudest and angriest" they'd ever seen him on the day of a show, as the WWE Chairman and CEO "rejected everything pitched to him" after requesting new ideas and pitches.
This could go some way to explaining why none of the three matches initially announced for this week's Raw ended up happening.
While not particularly well-received, critically, Raw finished on top of the night's cable rankings, hitting a 0.55 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, down from the previous week's 0.64. An average of 1.907 million viewers tuned in across its three hours.
