Here's why The Rock's new Netflix film was all over Survivor Series 2021...

WWE's ongoing promotion of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's new Netflix movie, Red Notice, is scoring the promotion a big-time payday.

Fightful Select have reported that the promotional spots come with what is described as an "insane" price tag, which, according to some within WWE, may hit seven figures.

The curious case of Vince McMahon's missing egg formed much of the promotion. McMahon had the Red Notice prop at Survivor Series 2021, claiming it was worth $100 million and that Rock had gifted it to him, but it was stolen from his desk at some point in the evening. This led to the WWE Chairman and CEO tasking authority figures Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville with finding the culprit, who turned out to be Austin Theory.

Theory was rewarded rather than punished, receiving a shot at Big E's WWE Title on Raw.

As covered earlier, Rock was originally scheduled to be part of the WWE/Red Notice co-promotion but outside commitments prevented him from doing so. The considerable financial obligation meant that WWE pushed forward with it regardless.

Red Notice, which also stars Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, is on course to become the most-watched movie in Netflix history.
