Report: WWE's Current Testing Situation "A Mess"
Another less-than-glowing report from the Performance Center.
WWE's current testing situation has been described as a "mess" by sources within the company.
A new Fightful Select report shed light on the promotion's latest round of drive-through testing, which went down at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on Thursday. Key to this is a memo sent on behalf of Vince McMahon to talent confirming WWE's planned TV tapings on Friday and Saturday would be going ahead as planned:-
“Per Vince, ALL Talent are needed for TV on Friday & Saturday. Please go to PC by 10:30 AM TODAY for drive-through COVID testing. If you took test yesterday, you don’t need to today. If you are in high level storyline, you will be off camera. Thanks. **IMPORTANT: after test, you will need to remain ISOLATED AND QUARANTINED until after the TV tapings.”
A group of wrestlers reportedly missed the deadline listed above and were still waiting for instructions on what to do next as of Thursday evening.
Several "main roster wrestlers" are said to be upset with how the promotion is handling everything, with one particularly concerned for Kayla Braxton, who revealed yesterday that she had tested positive for a second time. A number of NXT performers had to be tested twice after exposure to people who had come out positive. Fortunately, their results were negative.
Some of the people tested yesterday are still awaiting results, while it's also noted that several NXT/PC wrestlers have elected to skip the next batch of tapings, though no names are mentioned. These performers were urged to come back to work despite expressing concerns about the current situation.
WWE has also failed to inform their employees of how many people within the organisation have tested positive. They are keeping their workforce completely in the dark, with wrestlers reportedly reaching out to media outlets for rumours and information, such has been the paucity of WWE's internal updates.
As reported yesterday, it's believed that around two dozen WWE personnel have tested positive thus far.
