Rewatching The Last Wrestling Show To Beat WWE Raw In The Ratings

9. It Was Warrior's Cup Of Coffee In WCW

Going into the October 26, 1998 episode of Nitro cold, the penny soon drops that this was the the time of Ultimate Warrior's cup of coffee in World Championship Wrestling.

Before turning up in WCW, Warrior had not wrestled a match for over two years. The multi-man clusterf**k of War Games was the Parts Unknown native's in-ring debut for the company, and that would be followed up by a screwy Nitro tag bout that saw him team with his former Blade Runner buddy, Sting. Then came Warrior's infamous Halloween Havoc disaster of a contest against Hollywood Hogan.

Here, this Nitro picks things up in the immediate aftermath of that Hogan bout, with the Ultimate One going on some bonkers rant about how he was really the victor at Halloween Havoc despite totally doing the J-O-B to Hollywood.

To his credit, this was actually one of Warrior's more coherent promos. It was still a promo riddled with insane ramblings, of course, but just not quite as much insanity as his WWE days.

Famously, Warrior's stint with WCW was an extremely brief one. After this episode of Nitro, he'd make one further WCW appearance before vanishing from the wrestling business for ten years - with Halloween Havoc marking the second-to-last match of Ultimate Warrior's career.

While Warrior would go on to take a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame, he'd also go on to expose himself as a racist, homophobic, generally xenophobic prick in later life.
