A war of words erupted between Becky Lynch and Ric Flair on Wednesday, as Lynch responded to a tweet the 16-time world champion had sent out the day before, accusing the 72-year-old of clout-chasing.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, the WWE Raw Women's Champion said she found it sad that Ric was "now jealous of her", claiming that he was using her name to generate buzz after digging himself into a hole with "other things."

Ric responded via Twitter within minutes of Lynch's comments being broadcasted. He tweeted on selling the rights to 'The Man' as a nickname to WWE to enable Becky's continued use of it on WWE television, which happened in May 2020. In his caption, Flair said he was "disappointed", stating that he'll always be 'The Man', and Becky should ask her husband, Seth Rollins, if she disagreed:-

Lynch spoke on this matter in detail during her MMA Hour interview.
