Roman Reigns' 10 Best WWE Matches
6. Vs. The Big Show (Extreme Rules 2015)
In the early part of Roman Reigns' singles career, The Big Show was trotted out as the slow, lumbering cannon fodder to have dull, plodding matches on RAW that presented artificial stakes for Roman to overcome. Needless to say, few if any were looking forward to a Last Man Standing match between the two at Extreme Rules 2015.
However, by the miracle of smart booking and the two competitors performing their roles perfectly, not only did the match get over, it generated the best reaction of the night in Chicago, no less.
Expertly playing the heel, Big Show forewent any sort of weapons-based mayhem, deliberately breaking kendo sticks and tables with his own hands and insisting that, as a giant, he didn't need such gimmicks. This naturally infuriated the crowd, who came to a PPV called Extreme Rules to see some mayhem. Thankfully, that mayhem came at the hands of Roman Reigns, who brought out the crazy spots fans were dying to see, including a moment where he speared the Big Show from one announce table to another to another after leaping off steel steps.
While one could point out the manipulative booking of this match, they can't deny that it worked to a T on this night. And of course, this match remains a joy to watch to this day.
