Rumours Of Jeff Hardy Returning To WWE Gathering Pace

The Charismatic Enigma could return...

There has been more talk of former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy returning to the company. This time, "one person within WWE" says there have been a lot of Jeff Hardy mentions going around lately, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Talk of the Charismatic Enigma returning to WWE for the first time since 2009 began last week with the Newsletter speculating that a comeback for Jeff and his brother Matt to WWE's tag team scene could be on the cards. Both Hardys were then mentioned on RAW during a backstage segment involving The New Day, Dudley Boyz, and Seth Rollins while Jeff's bump at the hands of Edge at WrestleMania XVII was featured heavily during Stone Cold Steve Austin's podcast with the Rated R Superstar and Christian. The Observer also noted that public Hardy mentions were previously not encouraged in WWE which, could mean there's been a change in mentality towards the six-time tag champs after what we saw last week. However, as talk of Matt's potential return has subsided over the last few days, Jeff's has continued to be a point of discussion.
WWE recently ran a poll on their website asking fans which superstars they want to see return to the ring. Both Matt and Jeff were listed, along with the likes of Kurt Angle and Batista. Jeff came out on top in a result that goes a long way to prove to the company's hierarchy that bringing him back would be a good move. TNA are also struggling financially so they are reportedly looking to get their biggest earners off the wage bill. Kurt Angle has already revealed that he won't be re-signing with the company when his current deal runs out at the end of the year, while Hardy's reportedly runs out in February of next year... Shock return at the WrestleMania, anyone?
