Samoa Joe makes his WWE PPV debut!
Following another brawl between the two men on Raw, WWE announced that Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe will go one on one at the Fastlane PPV.
Samoa Joe made his WWE main roster debut on the Raw after the Royal Rumble, attacking Seth Rollins when "The Architect" was attempting to get his hands on Triple H. It was expected that Rollins and Joe would battle at Fastlane leading into a Rollins-Triple H match at WrestleMania, but days later, news broke that Rollins had suffered a torn MCL. While the star is expected to make WrestleMania, Fastlane was clearly off the table.
Sami Zayn soon found himself in Rollins's place. After Joe made derisive comments about Zayn in a backstage interview, "The Likable One" responded in kind. That prompted Joe to assault Zayn, locking him in the Coquina Clutch. On Raw this week, Joe was cutting a post-match promo of his own when Zayn attacked him. They fought in and around the crowd, and then their first bout since last year's two-out-of-three falls contest in NXT was announced.
Fastlane airs live on the WWE Network this Sunday at 8:00 PM ET.
