Sasha Banks Says All Her WWE Matches Are "Five Stars"
Never accuse the SmackDown star of being short of confidence...
In a comment sure to draw a very normal reaction from those it bristles, Sasha Banks has claimed that all of her WWE matches are "five stars."
Speaking in-character on Wrasslin' with Brandon F. Walker, the SmackDown star started an appraisal of her acclaimed WrestleMania 37 bout with Bianca Belair with some broader, braggadocious comments (h/t Fightful for the transcription):-
"I always (make history). Let's be honest, all my matches deliver. All my matches are good. All my matches are five stars. It makes no difference if it's WrestleMania, a live event, or Friday Night SmackDown. It's no difference. That's why I'm Sasha Banks. They are all five stars because I'm in them."
Banks vs. Belair became the second women's match to headline WrestleMania on 10 April. Belair defeated Banks in one of the year's most beloved WWE clashes, capturing her first SmackDown Women's Championship in the process, with even the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer's four-star rating beneath consensus,
Sasha had the following to say on the bout itself:-
"To main event WrestleMania, that was my biggest, biggest, biggest dream, so big that I didn't even think it was possible. You would never think that as a woman in WWE or as a woman in general that you would be in the headline, main eventing, Wrestle Frickin Mania. To go out there and wrestle in front of a crowd when we hadn't been in front of them for a year in a half. To get the reception we did and to deliver and kill it and to have people still talk about that match, it's the best feeling in the world. To go home, leaving people happy and saying, 'That was the match of the night, that was the main event, male or female, period. That was just the greatest.' That's something we're going to remember for the rest of our lives."
Banks took a break from WWE programming after WrestleMania 37, sitting out for close to four months before returning on the 30 July episode of SmackDown, on which she turned heel on Belair. The duo will now run their 'Mania match back at SummerSlam 2021 on 21 august.
Matching the first outing's quality will be a tall order for Banks and Belair, though the former at least has the confidence to make it happen.
