In the much-hyped main event of Monday's Raw, Sasha Banks defeated Raw Women's Champion Charlotte to win the title for the second time.

Banks hit a plancha early in the match, but during the commercial brake, Charlotte slammed the challenger back-first in the corner. She continued to work on Banks's back, and even though "The Boss" fought back with a baseball slide, Charlotte nearly won with a corkscrew body press to the outside followed by the Natural Selection back in the ring. After that, Banks locked in the Banks Statement out of a headscissors, and while Charlotte tried to reverse it into a pin, Banks retained the hold and forced the champion to tap out.

Banks and Charlotte - who already spent 2014 and 2015 feuding in NXT - have been at each other's throats for the bulk of the year. Charlotte beat Banks and Becky in a WrestleMania three-way match to become the first Women's Champion, but on the first Raw following the WWE draft, Banks defeated Charlotte to win the title.

Banks was expected to have a lengthy reign with the title, but fear that she had suffered a serious back injury led WWE to put the belt back on Charlotte at SummerSlam. Just a few weeks later, Banks returned to action.
