Several WWE Stars Miss Shows Due To COVID-19
Following yesterday's news that Hangman Page has tested positive...
With AEW World Champion 'Hangman' Adam Page revealing yesterday that he's currently dealing with COVID-19 - and as such missed last night's episode of Dynamite - it appears several WWE stars likewise have been hit by COVID recently.
Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated how several WWE talents have been missing from shows lately due to testing positive for COVID-19. Meltzer did not mention any specific names, but he did confirm that at least a couple of wrestlers had been hit.
WWE is no longer testing talents at shows, so Meltzer's report would suggest that the grapplers themselves are testing themselves at home. Despite not testing wrestlers, WWE is obviously still keeping any positive stars off TV and house shows in order to minimalise the spread of the virus.
For what it's worth, WWE hasn't publicly announced any positive test results lately. After doing their best not to mention the global pandemic for so long, Vince McMahon's sports entertainment did finally begin to acknowledge what was going on in the world - particularly when then-WWE Champion Drew McIntyre tested positive for COVID-19 back in January 2021.
