There can't be a best-of list for HBK without talking about the group that helped usher in the shenanigans of The Attitude Era. At a time where WWE was all about shifting boundaries and changing the product in response to lagging behind WCW in the ratings, DX pushed the envelope as nobody had seen before.

The first incarnation of DX was certainly the lewdest version of the stable, with their strip poker and foul-mouthed Bill Clinton parody. Michaels, Triple H, and Chyna (as well as Rick Rude, he was awesome in this role) did things that went beyond controversial at times, and even though the stable's popularity surged post-Shawn's first retirement, he was the man who brought the iconic group to our screens.

Between the Screwjob, the match with Austin, and the formation of this group, Shawn Michaels is the only wrestler who can claim to be a major influence on The Attitude Era without actually wrestling during it. Indirectly giving people like Austin and Triple H the ball would set the stage for HBK's return, where he decided to put talent over on purpose.
