The Greatest Match From Every WWE WrestleMania
11. WrestleMania 25: The Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels
The greatest Wrestlemania match ever?
There’s a strong argument to be made for it, but there’s no debating its position as the finest from the event erroneously billed as WrestleMania’s 25th anniversary. Michaels and Undertaker stole the show so conclusively that the rest of the show (there’s another hour to follow) is nothing short of a slog to get through.
It’s old school storytelling at its best - two of the industry’s legends going at it to prove which of them is the greatest. The two have rarely been better. The match is paced perfectly, forever building and escalating until the crowd (who don’t recover from the excitement) can take no more tension.
Even Taker’s sickening suicide dive botch can’t hamper this incredible clash. That aside, neither performer puts a foot wrong, and the bout is genuinely unpredictable, with some of the most convincing last minute kick outs you’ll ever see.
Undertaker gets the win, but that hardly matters - this is all about two true legends of the business going flat out, demonstrating the kind of chemistry other performers would kill for. The greatest WrestleMania match ever? It would be hard to argue against it.
