All 5 Wrestlers Who Defeated Sting Clean On TNA PPV
3. Samoa Joe (Victory Road 2009)
Samoa Joe will be forever be remembered as one of the biggest botches in TNA history. It was nothing he personally did, but rather the way the company handled him following his incredible first year with the company. He went undefeated for over 18 months and once he suffered his first singles defeat to Kurt Angle, he fizzled out because the aftermath wasn't there at all. To TNA's credit, they tried to build him back up at several points over the next decade, alas to no avail. One attempt came in 2009 when he was going on a lunatic spree, threatening to legitimately kill people with his Samoan sword. Uhm, okay then. His luck turned around when he was revealed as a member of the illustrious Main Event Mafia and was prominently featured through the remainder of the year. In joining the faction he once despised, he began a feud with Sting, the former leader of the group. They went one-on-one at the Victory Road event, and while the match was less-than-stellar, it resulted in a clean win for Samoa Joe. Taz made his TNA debut as Joe's mystery manager toward the end of the contest, but didn't factor in the finish. He simply stood at ringside as he watched Joe hit a lazy-looking Muscle Buster on Sting before following it up with the Coquina Clutch for the submission victory.
