The Problem With Daniel Bryan That No One Wants To Talk About
Scheduling conflicts are a spanner in the cogs of AEW's long-term booking machine. In this case, they may end up preventing all the wonderful six-month yarns fans have spent the past few weeks building in their heads from ever coming to life.
The sad reality of it all is that Bryan may end up being booked in AEW like he was in WWE: a potential top guy, but only in a pinch.
Or perhaps it'll end up being the best thing that ever happened to Tony Khan's company.
That second scenario is likelier than the first because we're talking about Bryan bloody Danielson. Even if he does end up taking more satisfaction from working for NJPW than AEW, it isn't in his nature to dog it. He's a pro wrestling craftsman brimming with creativity, who happens to be exciting the most stifling promotion there has ever been. Bryan's head must be swimming with ideas he never pitched to Vince McMahon, knowing they'd get shot down. Watching them manifesting should be a delight. There's no way he won't want to work with Kenny Omega, PAC, Jon Moxley, and dozens more and given how giving he is, he'll relish taking on a Ricky Starks as much as fighting for the World Title.
This should be incredible. Here's hoping the concerns outlined earlier aren't a factor.
