The REAL Reason WWE Fans Are Living In A Fantasy World

As daft as the "Ambrose's release is a work" narrative is, the situation pales in comparison to that which unfolded around Roman Reigns' return to television in February.
22 October 2018 saw Joe Anoa'i deliver the crushing announcement that the leukaemia he'd first beaten into remission 11 years prior had returned. There was barely a dry eye in the house as he embraced Seth Rollins at the top of the ramp afterwards, and understandably so: Reigns' life was very much in danger, and at the very least, he'd be lucky to ever wrestle again.
That Reigns came back after just four months with a full head of hair and no obvious weight loss triggered the absolute worst of WWE's fanbase. Roman's leukaemia, they claimed, was a work. WWE had fabricated it in order to pour sympathy on a wrestler they'd struggled to get over as 'The Guy' for years, thus creating the most disgusting promotional tactic in company history.
This was an absurd standpoint. Absurd. Read this thread from Leukaemia Care UK if you ever deluded yourself into thinking that Reigns' illness wasn't legitimate, then follow up with this article from chronic myeloid leukaemia suffered Kris Griffin. They grind every boneheaded counterargument to dust.
