The REAL Reason WWE Fans Are Living In A Fantasy World

Jon Moxley Returns

Fans have screamed "work" at the Dean Ambrose situation from the moment it was announced that the 'Lunatic Fringe' planned on leaving WWE.

PWTorch broke the story in January, claiming Ambrose would depart the company when his contract expired after WrestleMania 35. WWE.com corroborated it later that same day. Then came the reports that Dean was considering staying, two "last WWE matches ever," a series of earnest "farewell" segments in the post-Raw dark slots, that Reigns/Rollins video in which the duo pleaded with their brother to stay, and the unprecedented Shield's Final Chapter show.

WWE have rarely treating a departing star with such grace, and each of the above events only strengthened the idea that this was a storyline, and that Ambrose would soon mount a return.

It's complete nonsense.

Ambrose's WWE contract has expired. Jon Moxley is coming back, and while that vignette was glossy, it wasn't anything that a man of Jonathan Good's wealth couldn't procure from an independent production group. Yes, the way he left the company is unparalleled, but think about what's going on in wrestling at the moment. WWE are desperate to hold onto everyone in this era of renewed competition, particularly stars like Ambrose. Of course they sent him off like a king! They want him to return someday, no matter where he lands next.
