Ric Flair warned Kurt Angle against signing with WCW.

Kurt revealed on the latest episode of his new podcast that he contemplated joining the company when he was still a free agent in 1996. Angle had just won his gold medal at the Olympics, and also had a "multi-million dollar deal" on the table from Vince McMahon and the WWF to consider.

Someone told Kurt he should give Flair a call and try to use WCW interest against McMahon. However, when Angle telephoned Ric, the 'Nature Boy' flat out told him the following: "Don't come to WCW". Flair also advised a bemused Kurt that WCW wouldn't know what to do with him if he inked a deal. "They're gonna' bury you", he added, before closing with a quick "Vince will take care of you".

Angle still isn't sure if Ric was just worried about a newcomer taking his spot in Atlanta, or if he was only being honest - he'd lean towards the latter, because Flair would know better than anybody the kind of nonsense that went on in WCW.

Besides, things worked out rather well for him in the WWF.
