TNA Exclusive Interview With Superstar Rob Terry

Rob, you recently began a new gimmick as a member of €œthe Menagerie,€ how did this come about and how would you describe your role to those who may be unfamiliar with this new faction?ROB TERRY: Initially this was a TNA project and they saw that I would be suitable for one of the characters. I play the strong man of the faction known as the Freak. I look forward to it actually. Bee Boy, you yourself have a rather unique gimmick, where did this concept originate from?BEE BOY: I was having some training (dark) matches and it was getting close for me to have my first professional match, and my trainer Sean O'Shea were discussing my finisher and he was like "why not do the Stinger Splash into a Stunner, you could be the Wasp." But then the word got around and I had people coming up to me and saying "are you going to be the Wasp," which then somehow became "are you going to become the Bee Boy" and the name kind of stuck. It was not my fault at all (laughs). But you do have a rapport with the children?BEE BOY: I do. And I like to have a lot of fun with the crowd. I even know that some of the adults look up to me and that's awesome (laughs). But with the kids, just like after the show, to talk to them and give them hope. It is amazing and it is the best part of the show.
Who inspired the Bee Boy to become a professional wrestler?BEE BOY: Growing up, I have always loved Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Edge and RVD. But my favourite wrestlers of all time would be Jon Moxley (WWE's Dean Ambrose) and most importantly, Ultimo Dragon. In my opinion he is the best wrestler of all time, not to be biased because he is my favourite, but I really do think so. He has a different match every single time and it doesn't matter who he is wrestling, whether it is a rookie or someone 20 years older than him, he will always go out and put on the best match he can, which is awesome. Rob, you got to see the Bee Boy in action, what are your opinions on this fast rising Australian star?ROB TERRY: I absolutely loved watching that guy. He is pure entertainment, has a lot of crazy moves. Definitely a guy to watch out for in the future, I am sure. Rob, you do have a truly amazing physique, what is your weekly regime?ROB TERRY: Thank you very much. My weekly regime, well I train every single day. I am in the gym for the best part of 2, 2 and ½ hours lifting weights. Sometimes, maybe for 3 days of the week I will get up and do cardio and abdominals on an empty stomach. On top of that with whatever wrestling shows we have it is a pretty vigorous workout. I also need to make sure I have a good diet to support that. It€™s a lifestyle that I have been doing for a long time even before I got into professional wrestling, so it has kind of become like a normal lifestyle for me. What advice do both of you have for people out there who are looking to become a professional wrestler and/or body builder?BEE BOY: From a wrestling standpoint, train hard. If you love it, then just keep going and going. It does not matter if you fail the first time around, it is about commitment and just loving what you do. ROB TERRY: They need to have a certain amount of dedication because both fields are extremely tough, especially professional wrestling. These days it really is pretty much a cosmetic business so for anyone looking to get into it, they really need to know that they have to look in somewhat good shape to get a really good opportunity, a better opportunity to get the chance to do it. On top of that you have the wrestling training which is extremely tough on the body and I think that is a challenge in itself. You really need to be mentally focused. But I wish them all the best and my advice is just to never give up. Will we see Rob Terry in the main event for a TNA World title shot in the near future?ROB TERRY: Very soon (laughs), well I hope so, very soon.
Special thanks to Rob Terry, Bee Boy, Greg Bownds and the Australasian Wrestling Federation for their kindness and Hospitality.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
