TNA's 10 Craziest Matches

7. Fish Market Street Fight

At Against All Odds 2008, TNA ended one of their best feuds ever with The Motor City Machine Guns and Jay Lethal joining forces to defeat Team 3D and Johnny Devine. It was a victory originally built on the story of 3D disrespecting the X-Division and all of its competitors. They wanted to kill the entire division, and had they won the match, they would have succeeded per the stipulation.

Luckily, the heroes claimed victory, banishing the bullies, and saving the X-Division, creating a nice, emotional moment. The following month, Team 3D fought Shark Boy and Curry Man in a Fish Market street fight.

A bunch of carts with dead/frozen fish filled the entrance ramp. You could tell this was going to stink. Among one of the high/lowlights of the match, depending on how you look at it, was Devon getting knife edge chopped with a fish. And in one of the weirdest spots in professional wrestling history, Curry Man used a fishing pole to lure Brother Ray into the ring after he bit on the dead fish used as bait. Apparently he was so hungry he could not resist eating likely-contaminated fish for 10 minutes?

In a fishy finish, Ray accidentally helped give the 3D to Devon. Because despite teaming with each other for over a decade at that point, and being blood relatives, Ray couldn’t tell the difference between his brother and Curry Man.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
