Top AEW Star Taking Some Time Off

This major AEW favourite it set to take some time away from the squared circle.

Having recently lost the AEW TBS Championship to the returning Kris Statlander, it appears that Jade Cargill will be taking some time away from the squared circle.

Via Fightful Select, Cargill is expected to take some time off soon, possibly immediately. This report also notes how Jade will be undergoing a "personality shift" in the future. What this personality shift looks like remains to be seen, but one might speculate that a babyface Jade Cargill could be a viable option to put up against AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm and her Outcast buddies...

As for Kris Statlander, this story adds how Stat had been planned for at least several weeks to be the person to finally topple Cargill for the TBS Title and bring an end to Jade's undefeated streak. Of course, the 27-year-old New Yorker had been out of action since last August due to an ACL tear.

Statlander has wasted no time in presenting herself as a fighting champion, with her already having defended the TBS Title on three occasions since dethroning Jade at Double or Nothing last weekend. While the former Galaxy's Greatest Alien defended her gold against Nyla Rose on last week's Dynamite, that has been followed by similarly successful defences against Anna Jay AS and Lady Frost as part of AEW's House Rules live events this past Friday and Saturday.
