Top Indy Star Shoots On Possible WWE Or AEW "Full-Time Gig"

WWE and AEW haven't come calling for this guy again yet. Key word there might be "yet"!

Matt Cardona has told Busted Open Radio that there's a simple reason for why he hasn't inked a full-time contract with either WWE or AEW yet: "Honestly, because I haven't been offered a full-time gig".

It's as simple as that.

The ex-WWE star (who carved out a career for himself as Zack Ryder and got over in spite of Vince McMahon's old management structure) also told the radio show that he does "wish [he] was there too" when he switches on Raw and sees his wife Chelsea Green on TV.

Most wrestling fans probably expected Cardona to be back on WWE TV by now, or at least making waves in Tony Khan's AEW. Instead, he continues working diligently on the independent scene. Matt is currently out of action due to a torn pectoral muscle, but still appears as the GM of GCW.

What about that elusive return to the big time though? Is it ever going to happen? Cardona isn't sure, but went on to say that he never thought about instantly working his way back to WWE or even into AEW when he was first released back in April 2020.

Instead, his main goal was to work hard and show the wrestling world what he's capable of.
