Triple H Books SHOCK Title Change On WWE SmackDown (WWE News)

Not many thought WWE would try this experiment again, but it happened on SmackDown.

Giulia defeated Chelsea Green to win her second Women's United States Title on Friday's beefed up 3 hour edition of SmackDown. Kiana James helped her charge secure the victory over an unwilling Green; Chelsea had tried to find a way out of the match earlier in the night, but was informed she had to compete.

This represents WWE's latest attempt to establish Giulia on the main roster after calling her up from NXT. That jump hasn't been quite as successful as some had hoped (certainly nowhere near as lauded as Stephanie Vaquer's leap over on Raw), but Giulia's fans will be hoping for something better now 2026 has dawned.

Previously, Giulia held the Women's US Title for 133 days. She beat Zelina Vega on the 27 June 2025 episode of SmackDown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but never really got going as champ. Then, to hammer home how much of a flop her reign had been, she dropped the title to Green on the 7 November SmackDown.

Chelsea's own second stint in the hot seat, which lasted 56 days, was unremarkable too. Initially, it looked like Triple H was pressing the soft reset button on Green and planned to book her strongly, but she shed her strap on 2 January. Few are better at being clowned then pressing on than Chelsea though, so she'll probably be perfectly fine.

WWE will be praying that Giulia's latest whirl as Women's United States Champ puts some credibility on the much-maligned title. It hasn't exactly been on par with the Women's Intercontinental prize thus far.
