AEW could be adding another two major free agents to its roster.

Motor City Machine Guns Chris Sabin Alex Shelley

Having now finished up with TNA Wrestling - a promotion both men are so synonymous with - Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley find themselves as two of the hottest free agents in the industry.

With WWE and AEW believed to both have interest in the Motor City Machine Guns, it looks like AEW is the current favourite when it comes to where the legendary tag team will land.

Via Mike Johnson over at PWInsider, while Sabin and Shelley have yet to formally sign anywhere, the belief of some within TNA is that the two will end up joining AEW.

MCMG called time on their TNA careers last month, although the pair will continue to have a presence on TNA programming until the 18 April episode of IMPACT TV. As is ever the case with TNA, the Anthem promotion holds TV tapings ahead of time where several episodes are filmed over a day or two, meaning the Motor City Machine Guns' final TNA match will be against Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers and air in a couple of weeks.

Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley have a vast history with TNA/IMPACT, with Sabin having debuted for the company in 2003 and Shelley arriving one year later. The pair would first tag together in 2006 for the likes of PWG and ROH, before bringing that Motor City Machine Guns tandem to TNA in 2007.

Across those years, the Machine Guns have had major success in TNA and beyond, with both men holding the TNA World Title, 11 TNA X Division Title runs between them, three stints as TNA Tag Team Champions, and a spell as the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

Of course, these past few months have seen AEW sign notable free agents in the form of Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Moné, though earlier this week also saw the promotion release a total of ten names.
