The Undertaker is telling people during the last week or two that "it wasn't looking good" for him coming back at WrestleMania next year, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This comes after the concussion Undertaker suffered against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30 and the other chronic injuries he's having to deal with. It was previously noted that Vince McMahon decided on Undertaker losing the 21 year streak at Mania because he believed Taker didn't physically have another match left in him. Undertaker's new comments support that theory, although at the same time "not looking good" isn't necessarily shutting the door on a match. He could still compete, certainly in recent years he has always gave that same kind of negative impression and then ended up working. The trouble is that Undertaker's hip and shoulder injuries should have seen him retiring years ago. He tends to get to September and then starts getting the buzz to do Mania. Whether that happens for WrestleMania 31 remains to be seen, the Observer reports that Taker is back working out in the gym, so he will at least be in decent shape if he does decide he's up to one more match. Despite the loss of the streak, Undertaker at WrestleMania is still going to be a compelling draw. A revenge rematch with Brock Lesnar would be a good storyline and long rumoured matches with John Cena or Sting have solid marquee value. We should have a better idea of Undertaker's status around autumn, but for now his verdict is it isn't too likely he'll be back next year.
