The Undertaker's 10 Best Matches (Not At WrestleMania)

3. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock (WWE Championship Triple Threat Match) - Vengeance 2002

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=533Svue3GFg There were triple threat matches before this one and there have been many since this, but it will always be remembered as one of the best triple threats ever. Part of the reason it was so great was because of the talent in the ring. Undertaker was the WWE Champion that was still a heel although he was going babyface soon after this. Angle was a heel that was arguably the best in the world in only his third year. Rock was the top babyface although he wasn't around all the time. It's also interesting to note that even though Rock and Undertaker were at the top for a lot of their career, they didn't have any great singles matches together. They were a part of some multi-man matches that were memorable, but in singles competition none of their contests really stand out. What was so great about this match is that the action never stopped. The amount of nearfalls and near submissions kept the crowd on their feet for the majority of it. Every time it looked like it was going to be over, somebody made the save to prevent an ending to the match. All three guys had several moves they could do to finish a match, so the fans were ready to go wild for everything they did. They did the finish where Undertaker lost the WWE Title even though he didn't get pinned. Angle dropped him with the Olympic Slam, but Rock hit the Rock Bottom on Angle to win the match just before Undertaker could prevent the pinfall. A lot of triple threats that followed this one copied the formula they used in this matchup. Great drama with a very memorable finish.
