Vince McMahon Attended Last Night's WWE Raw. Why?

McMahon was alleged to have paid "hush money" to women in order to cover up sexual misconduct.

Vince McMahon was backstage at last night's WWE Raw.

The Chairman was supposedly at Boston's TD Gardens to see John Cena, who returned to television to set up his WrestleMania match with Austin Theory. This marks the first time McMahon has been reported to be anywhere near the company's television or Premium Live Event locations since his departure last July.

McMahon's been all over the wrestling news space since he returned to power within the organisation in January, amidst conversation about an impending sale of the company. Triple H had confirmed as much recently, with multiple suitors supposedly in play. Whether this too was related to McMahon's appearance last night is unknown, as is his status on the Road To WrestleMania in general.

After resigning in disgrace last July and un-resigning (but still in disgrace) in January, McMahon as majority shareholder engineered his surprising-but-not shocking return to the company. Rumours of his involvement in creative swirled as recently as last week when WWE confirmed that Brock Lesnar was set to face Omos, but as of right now, his son-in-law remains in charge of the final say.

More on this gross reality as it inevitably develops.
