While Vince McMahon has spent decades being forever present at any and all WWE TV tapings, PPVs, and even house shows, it’s now being reported that the WWE Chairman was absence from this past Friday’s SmackDown taping.

Via Ringside News, McMahon was not in attendance at Florida’s Amway Center for the most recent episode of WWE’s blue brand – although it’s not yet known exactly why VKM missed the show.

PWInsider went on to add that this is the first WWE taping that Vince has missed since the ThunderDome concept debuted back towards the end of August.

In McMahon’s absence, it was Bruce Prichard who oversaw the SmackDown taping. As well as being a notorious McMahon ‘yes man’, Prichard’s official WWE role these days is that of Senior Vice President and the Executive Director of both the Raw and SmackDown brands.

For those wondering, Vinny Mac was present at the Amway Center for this week’s Raw and was once again calling the shots backstage.

Where the Amway Center is concerned, WWE is currently due to finish up at the venue with the post-Survivor Series episode of Monday Night Raw. It’s yet to be confirmed where WWE programming will emanate from after that Raw, although the company is said to be keen to continue with the ThunderDome setting wherever it finds its new temporary home.
