What If WWE WrestleMania Was Always 2 Nights?
9. WrestleMania 27
WrestleMania 27 is a bit tough, as WWE was so heavily focused on The Rock as the biggest draw without him even being truly on the card, that The Miz vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship was the obvious choice for the main event. But a secondary main event becomes more of a debate.
There's an argument to be made that Edge defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio would have taken that slot, as it opened the show (which is often considered the next best spot tied with second-to-last). Plus, Del Rio did win the Royal Rumble, so it would make sense for him to get that main event match like WWE advertises it to be (that WrestleMania would date horrendously, mind).
However, just as much of an argument is there for Triple H against The Undertaker. Their No Holds Barred match with the streak on the line even takes priority on the poster above, and the year prior, Shawn Michaels had his career ended against The Phenom in the main event of WrestleMania 26, so that was fresh on everyone's minds.
It would have to come down to one of those two, with the slight advantage toward the title match. Just wait for next year, though.
