What Next For Ronda Rousey After Becky Lynch WrestleMania 39 Match Cancellation?
Is Ronda Rousey in WWE purgatory after long-rumoured plans bit the dust?
Becky Lynch may no longer be on the cards for Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 39, though one top talent is of the belief that Rousey will still work a big match on the year's grandest wrestling show regardless.
Fightful Select has reported as much, confirming the Wrestling Observer's report that WWE no longer plans on running Lynch vs. Rousey at 'Mania 39 at the same time.
That Ronda might face Raw star Rhea Ripley instead of Lynch has been reported recently too, though Fightful were unable to confirm that.
Rousey's latest run as SmackDown Women's Champion ended on last Friday's show. Having successfully defended against Raquel Rodriguez, whom Ronda had put out of action via injury angle weeks prior, 'The Baddest Woman On The Planet' was suddenly accosted by a returning Charlotte Flair. Flair proceeded to defeat Rousey in her comeback match, running through the now-former champion in under a minute.
That Rousey and Lynch would eventually have a one-on-one match at WrestleMania had been rumoured for years, with the talk predating even Rousey's comeback at Royal Rumble 2022. But where once the collision seemed a certainty, this is no longer the case.
