For those hoping to see Roman Reigns dethroned as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, it looks as if you may still have quite the wait on your hands.

As per WrestlingNews.co, the current plan is for the Tribal Chief to continue his reign with the company's top prize through until after WrestleMania 39.

Under Vince McMahon's stewardship, WWE planned to keep the Undisputed WWE Universal Title(s) on Roman past next year's Showcase of the Immortals, with him retaining the gold against the Rock at 'Mania 39 should the Great One's schedule permit it. After that, someone would finally topple the Head of the Table in the months after the Granddaddy of Them All.

While there were discussions of having Drew McIntyre beat Reigns at Clash at the Castle last weekend, the decision was ultimately made to have Roman emerge victorious in that Clash main event. This latest report states that Triple H is presently sticking to the original plans that McMahon had for Roman - as in, keep hold of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, beat the Rock at WrestleMania 39, then finally lose that belt at some point next summer and eventually turn babyface.

Of course, as ever, plans could always change, but it looks like Roman's reign at the top of the mountain is in no danger of ending any time soon right now.

As of this writing, Roman Reigns has held the Universal Championship for 741 days, while it's 160 days since the former Shield man bested Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 38. Reigns is currently in the midst of the longest run with WWE's top title since Hulk Hogan's 1,474 days that went from January 1984 through until February '88.
