Why Charlotte Flair "Wasn't Ready" For Her WWE Raw Debut

Retrospect reveals all.

Charlotte Flair appeared on Brie and Nikki Bella's podcast to discuss her career, and she made one rather eye-opening admission about the start of her run on WWE's "main roster".

Flair debuted alongside fellow NXT women Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks on the 13 July 2015 episode of Raw; Charlotte formed 'Team PCB' with Paige and Becky, whilst Sasha joined Tamina and Naomi as 'Team B.A.D'. Those groups feuded with 'Team Bella', which was comprised of Nikki, Brie and Alicia Fox.

It wasn't a great experience for Flair.

She knew she'd get another chance to show off her abilities even if the debut flopped, but admits there was a lot of pressure on her shoulders that night. Charlotte "felt so unready" to be in that spot, and claims it took working with Nikki before she knew what it meant to present oneself as a top star.

Perhaps remarkably, Flair wasn't concerned about living up to her famous surname. Instead, she just didn't feel like she was prepared to do what WWE had asked. The expectations, and the fact she wasn't in NXT anymore, threw Charlotte off her game.
