Why SummerSlam 1992 Is The Greatest WWE PPV Of The “Golden Era”

Music starts and Ted DiBiase comes out wearing a really ostentatious white suit, flanked by IRS wearing his trademark glasses and red braces. They get into the ring and IRS erupts into his signature “tax cheats” diatribe. The crowd are so hot against them.

Then the next thing you hear is “What a Ru-u-ush!” The crowd goes wild: it's the Legion of Doom. (Yes, I know they were infinitely better as The Road Warriors, but work with me here.) What's better than LOD? LOD riding Harleys to ringside.

What better way to kick things off than a classic heels vs. faces tag tie? The match itself wasn't fantastic, but considering it's the last time we'd see LOD until 1996, it takes on new gravitas. It's the end that I love though, with Money Inc. trying every trick in the heel play-book and still failing to win. Great start.
