Why SummerSlam 1992 Is The Greatest WWE PPV Of The “Golden Era”

2. Main Event – Part Two

Bret Hart British Bulldgog SummerSlam 1992 Intercontinental Championship

Well, what a way to end a show. Our very own Davey Boy Smith facing off against Bret Hart, for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. But wait, it gets better... they're brothers in law!

Going back to the section on Michaels vs. Martel, family feuds have also been going on since time began. How it's handled, even involving Diana Hart, Bret's sister, Davey Boy's wife, adds such a legitimate feeling to the match - which itself is great. Getting to see one of our own taking on possibly the best technician in the game, at the iconic (and sadly no longer with us) Wembley Stadium was such moment for every British wrestling fan.

The contest is a pure classic, with neither man dominating for any great period of time, as it see-sawed back and forth. There are so many moments where each man was inches away from victory. Then seeing Davey Boy lift the belt gave me goosebumps then and still does now. In fact, just writing about it brings them back!
