Why WWE WrestleMania No Longer Has The Best Matches Of The Year

1. WrestleMania 39 Onwards: The End Of A Part-Time Era?

Surely, they cannot have Roman and Brock main event the show a fourth time. But if not, who will get the nod ?

The part-time strategy has caught up with WWE, its prized legends now too old or too busy to compete, while the main event slots still have to be filled. (That incredibly talented roster may finally come in handy, eh?). In AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, Riddle, Big E or Sami Zayn, WWE has proven grapplers who have both enough star power to carry the company’s major storylines and enough wrestling ability to design must-see bangers. Finn Bálor, Ricochet, Pete Dunne, Damien Priest, Bron Breakker or even Montez Ford have the latter, and just need creative to grant them some of the former.

Now, it’s very possible that WM39’s main events will be Edge vs Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns vs John Cena III, Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte vs Beth Phoenix, while the Bad Bunny vs Logan Paul vs Johnny Knoxville Triple Threat for the IC strap and the Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle “Blast From The Past” Street Fight both get 20 minutes in the midcard. If so, the days when WrestleMania was synonymous with WWE’s greatest matches may be dead and buried for good.

But don’t worry, we’ll always have P. Diddy live.
