Why WWE WrestleMania X-Seven Is FINALLY Set To Be Topped

If it can stay in its own lane, like last year, the undercard will also be tremendous. Khan, that bizarre meme of an ROH episode notwithstanding, has learned lessons from 2022. After the marathon Double Or Nothing '22, where something as good as Kyle O'Reilly Vs. Darby Allin felt like an imposition, every subsequent AEW PPV has been leaner and more focused.

According to Fightful Select, CM Punk Vs. KENTA has been discussed, and that will be incredible for the Go To Sleep teases alone. Also, KENTA has done an excellent job of fuelling the idea that he resents Punk for stealing the move in the media over the years. If he starts to really unload the stiffest strain of worked kicks, in the moment, they could convince a capacity crowd that the match has fallen apart in the most awesome of ways.

Both AEW and NJPW regularly promote trios and multi-man tags, so expect one or two awesome party matches to add some levity to the night. Last year, Sting harnessed something extraordinarily joyful with the Young Bucks, and Chris Jericho made Shota Umino and Wheeler YUTA look like potential world-beaters. In 2023, the permutations look incredible. There's just so much talent flooded across each roster. What about Planet Jarrett Vs. the House of Torture in a ridiculous match to determine which is the biggest gang of ar*eholes? A Dudes with Attitudes reunion, with Hiromu Takahashi joining in this time, working the recently expanded Bullet Club Gold? Jay White has one of the most lethal chops in wrestling. Imagine Sting no-selling it and pounding his chest in defiance. Imagine Juice Robinson going full ham taking the piss out of Sting's crowd appeals before being splashed to f*ck in the corner.

Or perhaps the Dudes With Attitudes will implode, and Tony Khan delivers the sickos match: Darby Allin Vs. Hiromu Takahashi. That is almost too terrifying to look forward to.
