In one of the more memorable moments on WWE TV in recent years, this day in 2015 saw the infamous pull-apart brawl between bitter rivals and WrestleMania foes, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

In their first one-on-one encounter since they stood toe-to-toe in New Orleans at WrestleMania XXX, "The Deadman" and "The Beast" tore into each other in a vicious display of fury and rage; with Lesnar out for vengeance after 'Taker had cost him the WWE Championship the night before at Payback and Big Evil looking to exorcise some demons of his own, namely the sole blemish on his WrestleMania record at the time.

Pull aparts in wrestling have become somewhat cliched over the years, with the standard “brawl, pull apart, one man escapes, brawl again, etc” scenario being played out ad nauseam. However, when the highly combustible elements of Lesnar and Undertaker were added to the mix, this formula gained a whole new world of volatility.

This brawl in particular was everything it needed to be: stiff, violent and - most importantly - oozing authenticity. The encounter instantly lit the feud ablaze, setting the tone for the war of the summer. In an era often criticised for being kid-friendly and lacking grit and realism, this was a rare taste of violence.

The dangerous fighter mixing it up with the legendary brawler made for epic TV and Lesnar’s audible line of “I’m gonna kill you” followed by 'Taker’s response of “You’re gonna have to” sealed their return match as must-see viewing.

Lesnar and 'Taker would go on to headline the two PPV events in the coming months, closing out SummerSlam in controversy before finally settling the score inside the Hell in a Cell structure in October; but it was this moment that reignited interest in the dormant feud from over a year previous.
