Wrestling's Dumbest Criminals

1. Juventud Guerrera

Australians are often stereotyped as being laid back - and Queensland police did little to disprove it when Juventud Guerrera ran wild on a Marriott Hotel lobby in Brisbane at the turn of the century.

During a tour of the country with WCW, high-flyer Juventud went just that little higher. He followed up a solo trip to a nightclub by alighting in the hotel diner at 10am the next morning shouting obscenities at Disco Inferno (understandable) and other wrestlers, before stripping absolutely bollock naked.

Perhaps his most heinous crime was inciting Konnan to follow suit. Things quickly turned grim, as Juvi began making suicidal threats whilst swinging dining furniture in everybody's direction.

The Juvi juice was running wild, and cops were eventually called as not a single wrestler could restrain him. It took six officers to finally bring the lucha libre down - but not before one was pepper sprayed by his own man in a comical bit of panto straight from the ring.

Guerrera's drug-addled psychosis (no, not his Mexicools partner) had been instigated by a shot of Phencyclidine, a known hallucinogen. Despite being charged with indecent exposure, assaulting an officer, disorderly conduct, possession of a dangerous drug and causing bodily harm, Queensland police only slapped Juventud with an $1800 fine, and were kind enough to leave the incident off his record as it'd affect his ability to travel professionally.

His employers were less forgiving, and gave him his marching orders instantly.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
