WWE: 10 Best Jumps From The Top Of A Steel Cage

8. Eddie Guerrero vs JBL - Smackdown, 7/15/2004

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPrCd9ImD4g The 2004 Great American Bash saw Eddie Guerrero screwed out of the WWE Championship by SmackDown! general manager Kurt Angle, who awarded the title to JBL after he reversed the referee's decision. The feud between Eddie and JBL was one of the more violent rivalries we've witnessed in the past decade or so, including a bloodfest at Judgment Day that saw Eddie retain his title via disqualification. This was Eddie's rematch, and his chance to regain the championship he'd chased for so many years. The match was on a SmackDown in mid-July, and would be fought inside the steel cage. The crowd was in full support of Eddie in this one, as evidenced by the huge pop he received when he came out in his red drop top low rider. The match was slow to start, with each man feeling the other out and making quick attempts to climb the cage. After about 10 minutes of trading blows and suplexes, JBL began to take control, hitting a big Clothesline From Hell that Eddie was somehow able to kick out of the pinfall. After a further beating from JBL, including a big powerbomb and another near fall, Eddie was able to get some separation from his much larger opponent and make his way to the top of the cage. At this point, both men were so exhausted that it didn't seem plausible for Eddie to make it out of the cage. But that wasn't his plan. As Guerrero sat on top of the cage wall, the fans grew louder. When he stood on the edge and looked down onto the fallen JBL, they went nuts, knowing what he was thinking. And he took off, hitting a perfect Frog Splash from the top of the cage, landing with a thud on the torso of the big Texan. Eddie couldn't capitalize with a cover, and JBL would end up winning the match after interference from a masked Kurt Angle, but the Frog Splash off the top of the cage will forever be a beautiful, breathtaking image Eddie left us with, one of many.
