4. Money In The Bank - WrestleMania 21
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x14cixj_wwe-wrestlemania-21-money-in-the-bank-ladder-match-christian-vs-edge-vs-chris-jericho-vs-kane-vs-chr_sport With a roster full of highly talented individuals and only so much room for all of them to make it onto a card as jam packed as WrestleMania, WWE was looking at a situation in which top stars such as Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge and Kane were left without a match at the biggest show of the year. That all changed when Jericho and creative writer Brian Gerwitz came up with an idea for a Ladder match in which the winner would earn a guaranteed shot at either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship at any point over the following year. Dubbed a "Money in the Bank Ladder match" few could have expected the impact it would have on WWE programming in the decade that followed. Young breakout star and Intercontinental champion Shelton Benjamin captured the attention of the audience with displays of unmatched athleticism but it was the story of Benoit's injured arm and the ultimate opportunist that Edge was that led to the outcome of the bout. The Crippler had his arm severely injured by Kane, who had repeatedly slammed it in a ladder. With the Big Red Monster out of the picture, Benoit climbed the ladder and appeared on his way to retrieving the coveted briefcase when Edge came from out of nowhere and blasted the injured limb. Benoit crashed to the mat below and Edge went on to win the bout. The selling by Benoit was phenomenal. It was not a leap of faith to believe that he had legitimately been hurt during the match. There is a great shot of Benoit biting the ring apron in agony as Edge celebrates his win, the physical pain of his arm and the emotional pain of coming so close but failing in the end overwhelming him. It only adds to all-time great bout.
