8. Stone Cold vs. The Rock - WrestleMania X-Seven
One of the biggest rivalries in WWE history, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock had many clashes with three coming on the grandest stage of all, WrestleMania. It is the middle match of their trilogy that is best remembered by fans, for several reasons. It came at the height of the Attitude Era during one of the biggest and best WrestleMania events in history and it featured the absolutely shocking heel turn of Austin as he aligned with his long-time rival Mr McMahon. The match itself was a fantastic clash of the titans in the home state of the challenger that saw the two going to war everywhere around the ringside area, a traditional wrestling match this was not. Aided by the no disqualification rule that was added at the opening of the contest both men were busted open within the first fifteen minutes of this almost half hour clash. While the image of Austin and McMahon shaking hands and toasting a beer over the fallen champion is the memory, the picture of war that proceeded it and the broken and cheated Rock wouldn't quite be the same without the scars of battle that encapsulated their fierce long-running grudge.
