WWE: 10 Candidates To Be The New Raw General Manager

8. Booker T

The fans in attendance for 2011's Royal Rumble event in Boston went berserk for Booker T's WWE return in the annual Royal Rumble matchup despite the fact it had been leaked online the night prior. However, much of the excitement surrounding Booker's comeback to the company quickly vanished once he was put on commentary mere days later on SmackDown. Many figured that his skills behind the booth would improve over time, and while they did to an extent, they did improve enough to the point where his stint as a commentator could be seen as a success. That's why it was seen as a miracle when he was named the new general manager of SmackDown on the August 3, 2012 edition of the show. He flourished in the role because he was likable, charismatic and had a connection with crowds that many other individuals in WWE simply don't have. He regularly appeared on the blue brand as its GM until having to take time off to undergo surgery shortly following WrestleMania 29. Upon his return in July, he was replaced by Vickie Guerrero. In the last year, Booker T hasn't had much of a presence on WWE TV, but has been a regular on the pre-shows for Raw and SmackDown alongside Josh Matthews and Alex Riley. Even still, you'd think WWE would make better use of Booker considering his worth to the company, name value and past accomplishments. That said, throwing him right back into the role of GM, this time for the flagship show, surely wouldn't be out of the question.
