WWE: 10 Drug Scandals Wrestling Didn't Want You To Know About

7. Vince McMahon Cocaine

vince mcmahon Vince McMahon relished his role as a famous New York entertainment mogul in the late 1980's. Was he involved in some of the seedier side of the late 80's New York scene? Well, Vince was a force in New York party culture just as much as any celebrity or wall street banker. McMahon would often appear on the Letterman Show or Saturday Night Live in the 80's and then disappear into the night to enjoy himself with the 'it' crowd. Vince longed for acceptance into the legitimate entertainment scene. As for what Vince McMahon got up to at New York party events, in 'Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit and the fall of Pro Wrestling', Matthew Randazzo states: "According to numerous sources, McMahon had a great love affair with cocaine that may or may not have ever subsided; he liked to brag with apparent justification that 'I can snort as much of that stuff as anyone can put in front of me and never get hooked.' One WWE employee of recent years told me, "The boys and former office staff use euphemisms when they talk about Vince's 'energy.' You'll hear it in things like, 'I don't know where he gets all the energy..... He doesn't ever seem to sleep!" The inside joke about it is that sixty-something Vince most likely isn't that energetic over multi-day sleepless stretches without help. I've seen him so wired that his eyes looked like they were going to pop." However, Vince is perhaps just a very energetic man. To this day, he still works past 1am and rises around 5am to hit the gym. He remains on the road with WWE and is constantly working. Vince is also a hater of drugs such as marijuana and nicotine, he has said to have gone mad when unaware people light up cigarettes in his presence. For Vince nowadays it is mostly tuna that he gets his energy from, his Connecticut office is said to stink of the fish.
