5. The Steroid Trial

When it comes to drug problems, the WWF was certainly more infamous for its steroid scandals as opposed to its coke problems. Most of the reputation as a Roid fuelled wrestling company came from the 1994 trial of Vince McMahon on charges of supplying steroids to his wrestlers. McMahon denied the allegations, and was acquitted on all charges. The mud however has stuck. Even in today's stringently drug tested locker room, people still believe that some wrestlers are roided up. Following the steroid trial, McMahon started pushing smaller wrestlers. Guys like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels started to occupy the spots once filled by muscle men such as Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. Big muscular frames did remain though, and it wasn't until the implementation of the WWE wellness policy in 2007 that we started seeing much smaller physiques in the WWE. Was there a steroid problem in the WWE? Well, you can't deny looking at someone like Triple H in 2002 and again in 2010 he looked much different. The industry has changed for the better.
