During his initial run in the very early '90's Douglas had no chance of making it onto a Wrestlemania PPV - he was a glorified jobber - but by the time he returned under the crappy Dean Douglas gimmick he had made a huge name for himself in World Championship Wrestling as well as ECW where he'd become one of the vilest villains on TV and had a huge following. In his brief second run Douglas won the Intercontinental championship (albeit very briefly) and would feud with Shawn Michaels and Scott Hall. Had he been allowed to perform as himself rather than under the Dean persona he would probably have made it all the way to the WWE's main event eventually but instead he disappeared as quickly as he returned and has been anti-WWE ever since.
