WWE: 10 Greatest Babyface Turns In History

2. Hulk Hogan

http://youtu.be/m75O43CqHMU In the 1980s, Hulk Hogan was the man. Moulded into the perfect babyface by Vince McMahon with countless victories over giant foes and a crowd full of Hulkamaniacs in every arena he performed in, Hogan was, and arguably still is the biggest draw and most important wrestler in history. But, after his move to WCW in the early 1990s, his immense popularity was beginning to wane as people grew tired of the same old shtick that he brought to all of his matches. So soon the unthinkable happened, as Hogan turned heel by joining the nWo in 1996 in perhaps the most notable turn in wrestling history. Now known often as Hollywood Hogan, he would maintain this persona for most of his remaining tenure at WCW, as his arrogance and gritty edge made him more compelling to the new demographic of wrestling fans. But with WCW's dissolution and purchase by Vince McMahon, it wouldn't be long until Hogan would return to his spiritual home in the WWE. After missing the entirety of the Alliance storyline, Hogan would make his comeback as a heel alongside his original nWo brethren Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Or at least that is what was intended, but the emotion and nostalgia of the fans clearly caused a change in those plans. Every time Hogan appeared in the ring, no matter what heinous action he was conducting, he was cheered and applauded by all in attendance, and in his Wrestlemania X8 classic opposite the Rock, he received an ovation that virtually blew the roof off of the Sky Dome. Following the conclusion of the match and his defeat to the Brahma Bull, Hogan shook his challenger's hand, fought off the rest of the nWo and ended his evening posing for the delighted crowd. And with that, Hogan was the ultimate babyface again in his final serious run with the company.
