6. Dusty Rhodes
"The Son of a Plumber" Dusty Rhodes captured the image of a common man and brought it to work with him, channeling his real life experiences into cutting reality based, heartfelt, ground shaking promos that got people out of their seats and staunchly behind "The American Dream." Much like Randy Savage, Rhodes was wrapped in a larger than life personality and it only enhanced his speaking ability. He was a force of nature on the mic, every time he cut a promo, he was more powerful and persuasive than a Southern Baptist minister preaching hellfire and brimstone on a Sunday morning. Dusty was a natural and at times made it look almost too easy. Whenever a microphone was placed before him the enthusiasm to speak was obvious and it helped make Dusty Rhodes one of the biggest stars in the 1970's and 80's. Most notable for his feuds with Ric Flair and The Four Horsemen, Dusty had tough competition on the mic, but it didn't unease the common man who gave back every lick of insult Flair could throw at him, making their dynamic one of the greatest of all-time.
