Antonio Cesaro was not at Wrestlemania 29. Many felt disappointed that he'd been missed off of the card. Most of these people were just fans who vented their frustrations online. One person who was able to make a bit more of an impact was CM Punk. Punk arrived at the pre-Wrestlemania press conference wearing an Antonio Cesaro t-shirt, and the internet went berserk. Punk was making a statement, no matter how much he denied it, that he was supporting Antonio Cesaro. Punk is not the only man to have Cesaro's back. Daniel Bryan has known Cesaro for many years, their paths crossed repeatedly on the independent circuit. They even teamed together in Chikara, albeit temporarily. Bryan's matches with Cesaro have been great, they crossed paths again on Smackdown this week and put on a master class. Bryan is going out of his way to make Cesaro look good in these matches. Most people know Cesaro's back history and his history on the independent scene is well documented. Bryan and Punk were big names in the indies, so perhaps it is not surprising for them to be singing his praises. So when John Cena addresses the crowd to tell them that Antonio Cesaro will be a future World Champion (before the belt was amalgamated in the WWE Championship) people sit up and take notice. Cena was not taking part in a storyline when he decided to stand in the ring, while the WWE toured Germany, and sing Antonio Cesaro's praises. You may argue that Cena was trying to butter up the crowd, with Cesaro hailing from nearby Switzerland, but Cena had no need to go in the ring and speak about Cesaro in such glowing terms. Recently Cena has even tweeted that Cesaro has been training with him in Florida. Cena seems to know what many of us already knew, Cesaro should be a huge star in the WWE.
